Rockabilly Vintage

Hey guys,

This will be one of my last photo shoots towards this blog but wanted to show you what I’ve been working on.

I recently collaborated with Rockamummy as we’ve wanted to create something that combines our 2 loves for Vintage and Rockabilly.

She made this entire outfit herself and took into consideration my battle of the bulge 😂

Anyway I don’t have many words to write for this blog post but just want to say thanks to Jess and the team of people that helped me and supported me through this shoot.

We had so much fun! As you can probably tell 😂

P.s I’m going to re-style these items and incorporate them into different outfits so stay tuned for that ❤️

Thanks all x

First Impressions, Last

Hello there,

How are we all? I was discussing with my little cousin the other day about first impressions and job interviews & how I remember this training course my high school sent me to.

It was about first impressions. Here is the scenario, now picture this:

I am a little 15 year old attending my course, catching the train into the big city. We attended this classroom with our school uniform and of course acting like the most immature little shits ever. LOL Anyway, one of the main lessons I learnt from this course, was the most important one of my life! & here it goes:

The first impression of yourself to someone else, is the most valuable one you can make. Choose wisely.

So as an experiment, he told us for tomorrow’s class , to not wear our school uniform but to wear conservative professional clothes. Watch how people react to you on the train. You wont be those little sh*** catching the train where everyone that works in the city shudders about, you will be treated rightfully.

So wow, did that work more than ever! I saw no adult roll their eyes or give me any smirks but I did see a lot of respect. He was right !

So my moral of this story: look at your outfit and yourself and think “what is my first impression? What does it say ?”
Comment below and tell me what you think? Do you agree ?

Girls night in Winter

Hiya,

Thanks for tuning in. Have been so busy with my new place (my first home, EEEKKK!) I can’t wait to show you all, photos of how I’ve styled it.

In the mean time, thought I’d smash out some outfits. Decided to do something a bit more of a going outfit but still chic, elegant, classy but FUN.  More for drinks with the girls, out for dinner or something in the night time. It’s winter here in Australia and I am struggling to dress for going out whilst not looking frumpy.

This is my personal style. This is what I find works for me. I don’t ever have the intention of looking like someone else just because everyone else is dressing like them.

I don’t ever follow trends that don’t work for me. If I liked a trend, i’d make it work for me.  in this case for this outfit, it was the off the shoulder top and bodycon midi skirt.

This has been my philosophy since day 1 of this blog and it will still be the same when I re-brand and beyond.

Have you found any newest trends that you can work into your wardrobe and some you wouldn’t dare try? Would love to hear from you! This question goes out the boys too!

Hello Winter 2017

Processed with VSCO with presetProcessed with VSCO with preset

Dear Melbourne,

If you could stop being so damn good so quickly at the start of Winter, that would be great. Winter for me is all about hydration. From my  skin care and makeup all my products are all about moisture. This winter I am trying to stop using the same products and went to Priceline and went a bit crazy on the new.  Change is as great as a holiday! Let me know if you’re interested in any reviews 🙂

Disclaimer: These items I have bought myself with my own money apart from the Luv ur skin gloss that was gifted to me from the Bloggers United AU girls. ❤

Hawkeye Vintage

Hello All,

As you all know, I love my Vintage goodies. The quality, the craftsmanship and the proud look of it gets me going. I often don’t buy “the new” as I find it better to save my money a bit more and score myself some vintage. Whether it be Vintage Chanel, Louis Vuitton, or even a vintage style of shirt, I am in! In Melbourne, we have a renowned Luxe Vintage Supplier named Hawkeye Vintage.

She is having an event dedicated this weekend on the 14th and 15th of July selling Chanel, Hermes & Louis Vuitton bags and jewellery!  This event will seriously be huge. Follow Hawkeye Vintage on Instagram   for details! In the mean time, images of the shoot will be up shortly: stay tuned!

Below is a pic with Yours Truly and I at the last event.  🙂 wpid-fb_img_1438203371255.jpg

(Hows that for an opening, no, yes?) 😀

I wanted to do something completely different in regards to this post.

As we all know, I am a typical Melbournian. I love my black. I wear it, I love it & suffice to say I breathe it. So I decided to do something different and grab this dress from my mothers wardrobe and style it up. I really wanted to see how versatile my style is. Wearing colour and styling this dress proves that.

I don’t know if it’s because of it’s classic pencil style, my mum has so many of these in her wardrobe with every colour and pattern you can think of.  (This is 1 of the Style Advice’s she has taught me).

I also decided to wear this dress with my fake fur jacket my mama gifted to me. Something I can wear forever and ever. I am so going to wear this jacket throughout Autumn – Winter and I am not even sorry for that 😉 lol

Thanks Mama!

Question to you guys reading this, has your mum given you style advice that has stuck with you? Comment below

Cheers  🙂

Beauty & The Beast with BYS Comestics

“It’s not till you lose everything, that you can truly appreciate everything.” Belle from The Beauty and The Beast.

I got #invited to watch a movie the other day, thanks to BYS Cosmetics  and the girls at Bloggers United AU to watch Advanced Screenings of Beauty and the Beast. This movie has been a favorite of mine from when I was little girl. Why? Well I thought I was Belle. (SAD I KNOW, LOL) as I use to read a lot as a little girl and somehow I was her LOL.

30 years later, here we are. Without going into too much detail, the movie was a 10 out of 10 for me. The graphics & the work they did with the costumes (Oh the costumes!). Such a fab night with heaps of popcorn that I finished before the movie even started (am I the only one that does this?) and of course the girls night! I love having girls night in but this night was epic.   A night to remember, I must say.  Apart from the movie, we did get gifted a massive bag (god it was a challenge taking it on the train ride home, I’ll tell you that) of makeup and brushes from the lovelies at BYS Cosmetics

Have you seen the movie as yet? What did you think about it?

Simply Styled in Print

Hi guys,

If any of you know me, I love interacting with different nationalities, religions and of course different aspects of life. It’s nothing more enjoyable for me as I find it mentally stimulating.

Now collaborating is no different. Meeting new bloggers in the industry is such a thrill for me. It’s great to know what makes them start a blog. Why they’re doing it etc, what makes them tick and what inspires them and etc.

So when Edwina came down to Melbourne and we decided to do an impromptu shoot by using Melbourne’s Lane ways.

Check out the look below:

Her instagram link is here for you to check out 🙂 Enjoy! Style Decoy  (I also got the chance to take an outfit of the day for Edwina. Have a look at my photography)

This look is for a Simple Saturday and a nice look for a hot steamy Melbourne night. #summervibes 🙂

Take care all
